When we were young, life seemed tender and sweet. Then we grew older and learned that life can also be sour, bitter, and full of sorrow. Sometimes I wondered if growing up simply meant losing the sweetness we once knew.

But perhaps sweetness never left us.
Perhaps sorrow only taught us how difficult it is to see.

The rain still falls. Flower still bloom.
There are quiet mornings, small kindnesses, and ordinary things waiting to be noticed.

I have come to believe that a beautiful life is not one without sorrow. Maybe we need the bitter days to understand the sweet ones, and maybe hope is simply choosing to believe that sweetness will return.

Joy and sorrow perhaps that is all life has ever been.
